Mount Saint Joseph's Hospital Boiler and DDC Controls Upgrade

New 3,000 PPH Flextube Steam Boiler - Field Erected by Cannepp Old Napanee boiler 1800 PPH steam boiler - removed in segments from the mechanical room. Installed Boiler Economizer - increases boiler efficiency 3-5% by extracting heat from flue gases Heating Water Boiler Isolation valves - allows pumps to run a lower flow and boiler to be electronically isolated.

Client: Providence Health Care
Venue: Mount Saint Joseph's Hospital - Vancouver
Year: 2012
Type: Health Care

E-Factor Engineering designed and implemented a new 3,000 lbs/hr steam boiler replacement and 2 - 500 MBH condensing hot water boilers for the hospital as well as adding electronic isolation valves, a 15 hp variable speed drive and new motor to the existing hot water boiler system, and a complete DDC Control Upgrade for the campus.

Of the many challenging aspects of this project, removing the existing boiler from the space through a small door, and installing the new boiler in pieces using field-erection techniques.

Thanks to the facilities maintenance staff and to all the contractors, especially Cannepp Products, ESC Automation, and CDC Construction for there help to complete this, one of the largest mechanical and controls design projects undertaken start to finish by E-Factor Engineering.
